Center for Alcohol Policy Announces 2012 Michigan Alcohol Policy Series

Alexandria, VA – The Center for Alcohol Policy (CAP) will kick off a 2012 Michigan Alcohol Policy Series on March 22, 2012, at The Radisson Hotel Lansing in Lansing, Michigan.

Michigan’s alcohol industry provides thousands of jobs and accounts for more than $5 billion in gross sales in Michigan, and it has experienced steady growth even in times of recession.

Session One of the series, “The Economic Impact of the Alcohol Industry in Michigan,” will provide an overview of the alcohol industry in Michigan and examine the role and importance of alcohol rules and safeguards. There is no cost to attend.

Center for Alcohol Policy Announces Fifth Annual Alcohol Law Symposium in Dallas, Texas, September 9-11, 2012

Proposals for Panel Topics Accepted Through May 1

Alexandria, VA – The Center for Alcohol Policy (CAP) Fifth Annual Alcohol Law Symposium will take place September 9-11, 2012, at The Fairmont Dallas in Dallas, Texas.

This annual event brings together the best legal minds in the country to discuss and debate current alcohol laws and challenges. In 2011, the Symposium’s more than 100 attendees enjoyed a diverse program that featured public health officials, state and federal alcohol regulators, law enforcement officers, and a keynote address from Washington Attorney General and National Association of Attorneys General President Rob McKenna.

(The Symposium begins with a Sunday evening  reception and concludes mid-day Tuesday.)

The CAP works with state continuing legal education (CLE) boards to provide attending attorneys with CLE credits. Nearly 40 states approved the 2011 Alcohol Law Symposium for CLE credits.
